Cookie and Storage Notice

Some cookies and storage are needed for authentication, session continuity, security, and core product behaviour. Authentication cookies are required to access your account; blocking them may prevent the service from working.

Optional preference storage remembers guides, interface choices, workspace reminders and guest-entry drafts only after you allow preferences. Without that choice, those settings or drafts may last only in the open page. The requested display language uses a session cookie by default; remembering it longer requires preference consent. Active workspace and sign-in continuity are core service functions.

Optional first-party analytics is disabled by default. It requires both the service's analytics feature to be enabled and your separate analytics choice. Signed-in choices are saved to your account and checked when collecting optional events; signed-out choices apply only to that browser and site address. An account without a saved choice starts off, even if the browser previously accepted. Global Privacy Control blocks analytics and attribution. When permitted, the service records a limited set of product-journey events without marketing cookies, fingerprinting, raw referrer URLs, IP marketing records, or arbitrary event details. Signed-in events may be linked to organisation, workspace and user identifiers; they are not necessarily anonymous.

There are no marketing cookies. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

The current application inventory lists names or patterns, purpose, provider, duration and consent treatment. Provider-managed authentication expiry depends on the deployed sign-in configuration:

__session (cookie; Clerk). Keeps you signed in securely while you use the service. Duration: Session or provider-configured expiry. Necessary for the requested function or remembering your privacy choices; not an optional tracking choice.

__client_uat (cookie; Clerk). Supports secure sign-in continuity in this browser. Duration: Session or provider-configured expiry. Necessary for the requested function or remembering your privacy choices; not an optional tracking choice.

__clerk_* (cookie; Clerk). Supports secure sign-in and protects the sign-in flow. Duration: Session or provider-configured expiry. Necessary for the requested function or remembering your privacy choices; not an optional tracking choice.

sm_workspace (cookie; Service en Place). Keeps the workspace you selected active between page requests. Duration: 30 days. Necessary for the requested function or remembering your privacy choices; not an optional tracking choice.

sm_tablet_device_token (cookie; Service en Place). Keeps a registered shared tablet securely bound to its authorised workspace and station. Duration: One year. Necessary for the requested function or remembering your privacy choices; not an optional tracking choice.

sm_dev_cycle_* (cookie; Service en Place). Keeps the selected saved Read active within its workspace. Duration: 30 days. Necessary for the requested function or remembering your privacy choices; not an optional tracking choice.

sep_privacy (cookie; Service en Place). Keeps the browser privacy receipt; it does not store account preferences. Duration: 180 days from the decision. Necessary for the requested function or remembering your privacy choices; not an optional tracking choice.

sep_privacy_signal (local storage; Service en Place). Helps another open tab notice a privacy-choice change; it is not a stored preference. Duration: Transient; removed immediately after signalling. Necessary for the requested function or remembering your privacy choices; not an optional tracking choice.

sep_privacy_pending (cookie; Service en Place). A denial-only retry marker. It contains no account identifier or permission to track. Duration: Removed after a confirmed save; otherwise up to 180 days. Necessary for the requested function or remembering your privacy choices; not an optional tracking choice.

sep_locale (cookie; Service en Place). Uses your requested display language for the session, and remembers it longer only with preference consent. Duration: Session by default; up to one year only with preference consent. Preference consent is required only for remembering language beyond the browser session.

sep.page-guide.seen.* (local storage; Service en Place). Avoids repeatedly showing the same page guide prompt. Duration: Until browser storage is cleared. Optional persistence is off until you allow preferences.

sep.page-guide.dismissed.* (local storage; Service en Place). Keeps a dismissed page guide prompt from appearing again. Duration: Until browser storage is cleared. Optional persistence is off until you allow preferences.

service-en-place:bubbles-visible (local storage; Service en Place). Remembers whether you chose to show explanation bubbles. Duration: Until changed or browser storage is cleared. Optional persistence is off until you allow preferences.

margin-scan:step2-mode:* (local storage; Service en Place). Remembers your preferred step-2 view when you return to a margin scan. Duration: Until changed or browser storage is cleared. Optional persistence is off until you allow preferences.

sep:workspace-setup-dismissed:* (local storage; Service en Place). Keeps a dismissed workspace setup reminder from appearing again in this browser. Duration: Until changed or browser storage is cleared. Optional persistence is off until you allow preferences.

sep:plus-upgrade-ack:* (session storage; Service en Place). Avoids repeating a billing-return acknowledgement during this browser session. Duration: Session. Optional persistence is off until you allow preferences.

sep.branch-capture-draft:* (local storage; Service en Place). Optional browser draft storage for guest entry; avoid unnecessary sensitive free text. Duration: Until submitted, cleared, or browser storage is cleared. Optional persistence is off until you allow preferences.

There are no marketing or advertising entries in this inventory. The old sm_cookie_notice_seen key is no longer written or read as a consent choice; it is removed during optional-storage cleanup.

Use Accept optional, Reject optional or Settings in the privacy notice. Preferences, analytics and attribution are separate choices and start off. Reopen Privacy settings in the footer at any time to change or withdraw them. Global Privacy Control blocks analytics and attribution.

While signed in, your choices are saved to your account and apply across signed-in devices. While signed out, your receipt applies only to this browser and site address; different site addresses can have separate choices. Choices expire after 180 days and must then be renewed. An account without a saved choice starts with optional purposes off. Account acceptance is not copied into a browser acceptance on sign-out. Withdrawal stops future optional server collection through the covered paths; other open devices refresh their browser controls periodically and when revisited. Known optional browser-storage keys are removed where the browser permits access. Withdrawal does not itself erase earlier server records or recall requests already sent.

You may email support@serviceenplace.com for help or to raise a privacy request. Email is handled manually; it does not automatically change browser or account settings. You can also clear storage through browser controls. Blocking essential cookies may prevent the service from working.
